If there was any doubt that America’s anti-vaccine movement is immune to satire, it was laid to rest on Comedy Central last night. For just as life imitates The Onion, vaccine rejectionism has evolved full circle so that its most outspoken blowhards sound like Steven Colbert’s blowhard alter ego. But the result is still funny.
Update: A publicist for Jenny McCarthy reportedly contacted the Colbert Report prior to the show to ask that the actress’ name not be mentioned because she no longer speaks out against vaccines. The source also said the show had been deluged with requests from anti-vaccine activists not to invite Offit on the show.
Steve Colbert’s father is a retired immunologist.

Guess Jenny’s going to claim next her son never had Autism at all, and go on to the next issue she can exploit to get her desperate for attention self on TV.
